We want the best for our kids and we want our future to be as bright as that of our parents. We’ve been making excuses for our attitude for a long time. It’s easier to blame the system we were born into, easier to complain about the government, than to do something positive. It’s harder to blame our parents for our failures and struggles when your own life has been turned upside down, turned inside out.
I think the millennials are people who’s sense of entitlement started to falter when they hit their 30s or early 40s the weight of life and responsibility hits home. A cynical view of our generation would probably suggest it’s nothing more than a bunch of entitled, anti-establishment, anti-everything, white kids trying to muscle their way to the top. It has a certain ring to it and a certain sort of naivety in the belief that we really do know what we want in life.
